Where Ice Sculptures Go to Die

Under the dirt
and into the roots
the snows of past winters
find themselves
green and re-born
in the leaf of a plant
that can feel some vibration
what is this strange sensation?
"we still do not know"
states the wizened Aloe
but you are welcome here
where the cold never descends
and summer has no end

Wooden Box of Wonder by BeeWickedSweed

BeeWickedSweed - Colorful Night by BeeWickedSweed

Some tunes by Bryan Smith and Ben Turner, formed out of the warmth of summer. Nothing like homegrown notes to fire up the day.

As Alkaloids Winding Down

A clock strikes 10
the world takes a bend
crossing plains
accepting pains
then the winter gets cold
then the winter gets warm
igloos crumble
ideas are born
which wilt
and are re-made
into something larger
than fall winter summer and spring
into something
that could
be any thing

The Music Will set you Free.

So you are in the woods
walking along
thirsty and hungry
snow up to your knees
when you hear some song
thumping through the trees
you come to a shack
what is this?
an out house?
a generator shed?
no.
It's Ben.

Ending Eternity by mystic forever

Spirits Of Winter by mystic forever

Zero Point Field by mystic forever

Yes, the musical stylings of our own Goblynn
so lean back in a warm place, don't be scared, breath in,
let the sounds carry you off to places where your job, the dentist, and spilled milk no longer matter.
There's one hell of a universe out there and it's just waiting for us to listen.

Deserving...

a post of his own
is the illustrious Morgan Kirkham
who has been photographing
midcoast Maine
and island life
for many a year
with endless subject matter
and a relentless eye.
who could resist??

Mechanical Eyes

Seeing and capturing more than the tools
we were gifted with at trimester 3
mechanical eyes see all
the most minuscule beauties
reigning in a generation
that can love
and truly experience
what once went unnoticed.

All three of these photographers manage to capture nature and humanity at their most real, a feat for any artist. Raw bits of reality intermingle with straight-up loveliness. Something each of these minds holds in common is the ability to remain in perfect unison with the subject, the lens becomes naught but an extension of self, allowing truth to take hold and stay supreme.

In order from top to bottom: Andrew Dillon, Julia Walker Thomas, Jamus Drury

There are no Penguins in the Arctic

Sun crosses over
the ocean
another day
dwindles
embodying the past
following events to come
A sheet of soft lit horizon
layed before
perfection of spirit
palms to the sky
roots to the core

Patterns II

Mommy Mommy when I grow up I wanna be a groupie!

These guys are great, their live performances are a must see.
Major props to Midcoast Maine musicians Owen Cartwright and Josh Nagle.
What's that I hear? sounds like winter in Maine.

Patterns

1. Mathematics is the language of nature.
2. Everything around us can be
    represented and understood through numbers.
3. If you graph these numbers, patterns emerge.
Therefore: There are patterns everywhere in nature.

Arty

The elusive Lobullcrow, pay heed they are know for nesting in your haul boots and pinching your toes when you are in a state of sleep deprived confusion.
consider yourselves warned!

note: they may also be found waiting on the washboard for traps to come up, hoping to catch a free ride down to the seabed poor confused Lobullcrows.
